Workshop Description:  This workshop will explore the physiological and neurological impacts of digital technology on the human body and relationships, examined through the lens of both neurobiological development and Christian faith. While digital technology offers incredible benefits, it also poses risks of increased addiction, distraction, and disconnection from ourselves, others, and God's natural world.

By combining biblical wisdom with scientific insights, this session will help participants understand how digital technology influences our mind-body connection, emotional well-being, and ability to form authentic relationships. Participants will learn tools to foster resilience, enhance self-regulation, and integrate technology intentionally into their lives, allowing them—and their clients—to lead more balanced, Christ-centered lives.

Join us to take a step toward reclaiming balance, fostering connection, and living a life rooted in God’s purpose and design.

Presenter: Denaya Black
Denaya Black is a licensed professional clinical counselor. Through her work as a trauma based therapist, she has been given the opportunity to see first-hand the impact digital technology has had on individuals, their faith, their choices, and the systems they engage in. Along with working with those that have experienced trauma, Denaya works with those who have sexually offended both in person and online. This has been impactful work for her. As she began to navigate the choices of technology for her family, she began to recognize the pervasive negative effects that digital technology can have on people. Denaya incorporates her faith into her work as much as possible and recognizes that when not being mindful, technology can detach us from ourselves and our communities. Denaya’s hope with this workshop is that people learn how to better attune to the self through somatic experiences while understanding how deeply technology impacts us, as well as to differentiate true needs of one’s body from distraction and set boundaries with technology that makes sense to each individual.
