DESCRIPTION:

The objective of this workshop is to help therapists learn more about how to provide therapy to the ever-burgeoning population of the elderly. The participants will learn about the challenges and opportunities of working with this population, as well as learn interventions, and provide some case management.

This is the first time in modern history that we are experiencing what the consensus is calling the ‘Silver Tsunami’… This year will be the largest year of the most people turning 65 and it is referred to as the ‘Silver Tsunami’…meaning, the wave of old folks is upon us. Because we are living longer and healthier lives, the elderly are continuing to contribute to society in a profound way. There is still a need for compassionate counselors to work with our senior population.

Learn about the life-cycle transitions of the senior population: the old (65-74), the older old (75-84), and the oldest of old (85+); to learn more about their mental health issues, and how we as compassionate therapists become equipped to address their needs.

This online event will also be in our CEU store for a designated time period.
